 Mark Sunday 16th of September on your calendar now - It's Sustainable House Day! Organised each year by the Alternative Technology Association, the event provides an opportunity for tens of thousands of people to visit some of Australia's leading sustainable homes, that are not only cheaper to run, but more comfortable to live in. This year we have FIVE, yes FIVE of those homes to get up close and personal with & explore!  The Impressive Core 9 home - C.O.R.E. stands for "Carbon Positive" "Zero Waste" "Recycled" and "Economical" We are lucky enough to have Australia's first net zero carbon housing estate, just down the coast in Cape Paterson, which has a large number (and growing) of architecturally designed, climate adapted sustainable homes. Five of which will be jam packed with activities for the entire family between 10:00am & 4:00pm on Sunday 16th September. The Day Will Feature
 Experience the latest Tesla electric vehicles with free rides along the Bunurong Coast If you've ever wondered about sustainable design and living in a home that can eliminate energy bills - you need to save this date in your diary. You'll have the opportunity to hear from industry experts and tour one of Victoria's most innovative community gardens. The talented builders and designers of the five sustainable homes that will be open to the public will be on hand to answer any questions you may have.  The 10 Star home will be open for you to tour The Sociable Weaver, TS Constructions, Beaumont Concepts & Adapt Design Group will talk you through how to create a comfortable, sustainable and bill busting home. Stage 2 of The Cape will also be officially opened! There is a panel of fascinating guest speakers arranged for the day including energy rating guru Tim Adams from F2 Design who'll be speaking about how Victoria’s first 10-star home (located at The Cape) achieved its rating. Also joining on the day will be the inspiring Tammy Logan of Gippsland Unwrapped who will talk about her journey toward creating a zero waste, plastic free and no palm oil lifestyle. You’ll hear from a current resident about why she and her family have opted for a sea change to The Cape, as well as The Cape’s landscape architect, a raft of solar, EV and battery experts, local sustainable residential builders and more.
