How are your 2016 fitness resolutions going, have you fallen off the wagon yet? If you are looking for a way to get serious about fitness in 2016, we would like you to meet Stacey from Sea Change Fitness. Inverloch3996.com attended one of her sessions in Cape Paterson and we are still feeling the burn. We sat down with Stacey after the workout and asked her all about Sea Change Fitness and why it's so important for women to keep fit in 2016 and beyond. 1. Stacey, why did you decide to start up Sea Change fitness in Inverloch?I saw it as an opportunity to be a working mum while incorporating something I love doing, keeping fit and helping people. After always having the freedom of exercising when I could, I found it quite difficult to find time to exercise with two small children and my husband working long hours. This way my kids are still involved and I’m having the opportunity to allow other women to be involved in something that is for them, without having to rely on others. 2. Where did your passion for fitness begin?I have always being active, so I believe it’s probably being there from a very young age. I have always played sport, being active member of gyms, boot-camps, outdoor activities etc. For me I know if I’m not active doing something than I’m not 100% happy. It creates motivation, endorphins, strength and mobility. I have always being in employment where my work was helping others to achieve their goals. Now I’m fortunate that I’m able to put my love for fitness with the passion of helping others. 3. Can you tell us about the child care services and how this appeals to mum's?Child care is provided for every training session. We provide toys, books, puzzles etc. and we allow children to bring scooters and bikes to the class. Two ladies take care of the children, so you have the freedom to commit to the class, without any distractions. It allows the children to interact with other children and witness their mother’s doing something positive for themselves. 4. Why is it important for women to keep fit?Endless reasons really. Better health – regular exercise reduces the risk of diseases such as heart diseases and diabetes. Creates a better you – increase of self- esteem, flexibility, energy levels, reduces stress and maintains weight. Sea Change provides an environment where women at all levels are welcome. I continuously aim to provide an atmosphere that all ladies feel welcome and enjoy coming to the classes. Understanding that not everyone is at the same stage and monitoring and modifying particular exercises to suit your current fitness level. Classes are ideal to develop strength, power, muscular endurance and aerobic capacity within the one session. 5. Is there a health secret you implement in your daily life?Always start every day with a healthy and big breakfast. Keep moving, doing some activity every day. Whether it’s for 10mins or 1 hour, this can be anything from a walk to a workout, or just jumping around and playing with the kids. I know it makes me feel good, so I do it! 6. Why was it important for you to follow your dreams? If you’re passionate about something, than why not give it a try? Everything is achievable with desire, hard work and commitment. You can apply this to any situation. Embarking on this new career path has given me the chance to inspire people on a daily basis and giving not only myself but them a meaning to life. 7. Why do you love living in the coast?I love the space, fresh air, SUNSETS and the sense of community. I grew up in the area and then went off traveling to see what else was ‘out there’ and when we started a family, I knew it was the right place to bring our kids up. It is safe, relaxing and I constantly feel grateful that we have beautiful beaches as an outdoor adventure playground. Want to get fit? Enroll with Sea Change nowFURTHER READING... |
