If you haven't discovered it yet, The Burra Brewing Co. is a microbrewery located in the beautiful rolling hills of Korumburra, the gateway to South Gippsland. Korumburra is going through a bit of a resurgence lately with property prices recording good growth over the last few years and new businesses opening that are injecting a little bit of "cool" to the 'Burra'. A Little Bit Of History In The MakingThe idea of opening a brewery in Korumburra originated on a lad's golf weekend (there may of been beer consumed!) Opening a microbrewery has been a long time dream of owners Phil, Anthony and Luke. After four years of planning and research, finally it has become a reality. Fantastic outdoor spaces are the perfect spot for a work lunch or some weekend fun during the warmer weather, with plenty of spaces and nooks inside for when things get a bit cooler as they often do in South Gippsland. A lot of thought, passion and love goes into the creation of each of the Burra Brewing Co.'s brews, from ingredient selection through to the equipment they have chosen to install and use. You could say the head brewer Phil is somewhat of a perfectionist and it shows. Pop in and sample the brews and you'll know what we mean. From gourmet wood fired pizzas to gluten free desserts, you won't go hungry here should you develop the nibbles. We sampled an amazing lamb Souvlaki pizza with a garlic base, tender lamb, sun dried tomatoes, spinach, red onion topped with jus the right amount of cheese and creamy tzatziki sauce. It went very well with the Amarilo IPA we were drinking. The Burra Brewing Co.'s Golden Ale has a well rounded malt flavour with two Aussie hops used throughout the boil. This traditional Aussie beer has been brewed as a mid-strength so you can have one extra! The hugely popular Golden Ale, handcrafted with no preservatives is available as a carry out from the Burra Brewing Co. We can confirm first hand that it's delicious and is well worth making some room in your fridge the next time you are passing through Korumburra. Inverloch 3996 loved working with the Burra Brewing Co. on the creation of their new web platform and we're excited to see how it performs for them over the coming months. Find out more HERE
